Hello Red Devil Fan
Manchester United Portugal (MUP) it’s a non profit
organization founded back in May 2002 by Ricardo Valente and
Jorge Leitão, two Portuguese Manchester United fans who
decided to establish a Red Devil Branch at our
country. The primary objective of MUP project is to spread
the name of Manchester United in Portugal. Since our
foundation we try to reach every Red Devils supporter
who spoke our language and provide them with a place to get
information’s and daily updated news from Manchester United
in our Portuguese language. We are a serious organization
well known by Manchester United staff who knows exactly the
type of development that we have implemented at our country.
Since middle 2003, we have requested the Branch Office
insignia to the club, and we are working hard to conquest
that gold in a near future. For now we only consider us
Portuguese Manchester United Supporters Club.
At Manchester United Portugal we have several collaborators
who help us to maintain and develop our project, Manchester
United fans who keep the red flag flying high and join us on
their free time. None of them receive any payment and only
the United love keep them moving forward. At our
organization we have a president, a vice-president, a
director, and ten more collaborators, one of them in
Manchester and another one in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since
2002 our project was several times recognized by the
Portuguese press. Regularly we spoke to the sports
newspapers/magazines and give interviews to the
press/television about our Supporters Club or about our
connection to Manchester United. We are proud to be
recognized as the best foreign Supporters Club organization
at our country, thumping the Real Madrid fan base or Inter
Milan boys.
We are now reaching 2700 enrolled members at our website.
Every fan can freely apply as a member without paying
anything. Those who intend to become One United members, our
organization provide all the necessary support and we are
proud to watch several Portuguese fans with a Manchester
United member card on his wallet. We have members from all
over the country and a huge community from Brazil who keep
spreading the Manchester United name in South-America. Those
fans have already built four MUP Branches in Portugal. We
have a branch at Porto, Coimbra, Braga and Guarda, cities
with many Manchester United members. We are now planning to
open two more branches in the cities of Lisbon and Faro. In
a near future a branch at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil may become
official too.
We receive thousand of visits from Portuguese, Brazilian or
African based fans, looking for Manchester United news and
we provide them with the best
Red Devils news bulletin of Europe. Since 2002 that
we fallow every Manchester United team that plays at our
country. We have proudly fallowed under-11, under-17 and
reserve team to several youth tournaments and of course, our
major team at Champions League games, friendly matches and
tours in Portugal.
